Studio B

Studio B takes the “old school” approach.  It’s main feature is a large room with high ceilings, hard wood floors and stage curtains.  The space is very flexible and can serve many roles.

The back wall is painted dark black to provide nice shooting environment for videographers.  The long stage curtains can be drawn back to change the acoustic properties of the room.  There are large mobile gobos to help separate the instruments while keeping the group together and within sight.  The ideal space to capture the “live” sound and get that big drum sound that seems to elude the bedroom drummer.

Studio B has an isolation room with windows to further isolate the vocalist while maintaing eye contact with the rest of the group.  The studio is bi-directionally wired with high quality Mogami™ cable for 32 channels of audio and Aviom™ cue system connections.

The MIDI capable Yamaha C7 piano resides in Studio B along with one if the house drum kits.  The studio also houses a workbench for maintaining equipment as well as a full-service luthier station.

The console in Studio B is a classic 24-fader Digidesign ProControl interfaced with a Pro Tools HD3 system with 40 channels of analog input and output through Digidesign 192 I/O’s clocked with an Antelope Isochrone OCX Master Clock.  All housed in an IsoBox.  The front end consists of 32 channels of Grace M802 pre-amplifiers or 32 channels of Neve 1081 pre-amplifiers.  all of which can be controlled remotely from the console.  Outboard gear includes an SSL Super Analog Channel strip,  a Universal Audio 2-610, an API 7600, a GML 2032 and a 6-slot Brent Averill 500 series lunchbox.

Genelec 1031’s and a 30” Apple monitor complete the console setup. Studio B’s audio system can be used in conjunction with Studio A and/or Studio C for maximum flexibility during tracking, or it can be used as a separate mixing or mastering environment.

With it’s flexible wiring, acoustics and equipment, Studio B can serve many roles.  During tracking its acoustics and isolation features can be of great benefit.  During overdubs its  flexibility can be extremely efficient and together with the Studios A & C, can provide the ultimate creative experience.
